Jon & Cate Minus 8 in MMNY 2012
On June 21st, the first day of Summer [also the longest day of the year], there will be over 1,000 free concerts throughout all five boroughs of NYC as part of Make Music New York (MMNY) 2012. And we are more than honored to say that Jon & Cate Minus 8 will be representing the LBR crew playing not once but twice in the event~~
For the sixth year in a row, musicians, bands, singers, orchestras, high school ensembles–you name it– will be playing all over the city, anywhere from Union Square to Riker’s Island [renamed Funk Island in last year's festival]. The event lasts from 10 in morning to 10 at night and takes simultaneously with other Summer Solstice celebrations around the world!
Jon & Cate will be playing a non-profit vintage store front and a subway station:
1:00pm: Vintage Thrift - 286 Third Ave & 23rd St.
3:00pm: Brooklyn: L – Train Subway Line – Grand Street stop
For more information on the day, visit makemusicny.org and read about what they’ve been doing— very cool stuff!

Rigbi and BSJQ made the press!
Just in case you missed it last month, we are very proud to say that both The Brian St. John Quartet and our new band Rigbi were featured in Mustache Magazine!
The release of Rigbi’s first song “Speak Up” was released via the mustached medium along with an interview with Jon about the band and the local music scene. Here is where you can read the entire interview! And if you haven’t already, listen to the song!
BSJQ’s recent self-titled album was also given a great review! — “There is a breed of albums that are perfect for long drives and this album exemplifies that.” We love road trips! You can check out their whole review here.
Thank you Mustache Magazine~~~~~

LBR 009 Compilation and CONTEST
After some serious DIY work consisting of printing, copying, cutting, and some pasting, we are happy to annouce that at tonight’s show we will be releasing our second compilation but 1st in what will be a 10 disc series and contest!! Being our 9th official release, it will aptly be named LBR 009.
From now until the series ends, we will be doing a monthly drawing for a $25 gift card. If you pick up one of these compilations, you will get a chance to win one of them! At the very end of the series, if you managed to collect all 10, you will have a chance to win a $100 gift card! Pretty nifty~~~ The only catch is that these compilations are limited. There are only 20 of this first one, so make sure to come out tonight to The Stanhope House and grab a copy before they’re gone! Oh and did we mention they are free?
We will also be giving out show posters designed, numbered, and signed by Pat along with our trendy LBR t-shirts!
The show starts at 9pm—– see you there!

We have two great shows coming up to celebrate. Come out with us on Friday 4/27 @ The Stanhope House – Lounge Stage with the ever-classy Brian St. John Quartet and Blue Soul. Rigbi will also be playing Saturday 4/28 @ Fredon’s weekend long HannahFest to benefit Joey Zieba!
